What Is a Fox Experience?
Our fox experience is a private, keeper-led encounter that takes you inside the fox enclosure to spend time with Nick and Todd in a safe, supervised environment.
Rather than simply watching them from outside, you’ll have the opportunity to meet them up close, help feed them and learn more about their behaviour, personalities and the care they receive every day.
One of the things we love most is watching people’s expectations change.
Many visitors expect foxes to be shy and difficult to observe. While they certainly have their quieter moments, Nick and Todd are naturally curious and love investigating anything new – including their human visitors.

Meet Nick and Todd
Nick and Todd are red foxes who have grown up here at Hogshaw – and while they’re no longer tiny cubs, they’re still young, still inquisitive and very much full of character.
With their bright eyes and bushy tails, they’re everything you’d hope a fox would be – bold, watchful, and always with an opinion about what’s happening around them. It’s their personalities that usually leave the biggest impression.
They’re intelligent, inquisitive and always interested in what’s happening around them.
Every visit is slightly different because, just like people, they each have their own character. Sometimes they’re full of energy and eager to explore. Other times they’re happy to relax while keeping a close eye on everything going on around them.
Getting to know those individual personalities is one of the highlights of the experience.
What Can You Expect During the Experience?
Our fox experience lasts approximately 20 minutes and is led by one of our experienced keepers. During your visit you’ll step inside the enclosure, meet Nick and Todd, help feed them and learn more about these fascinating animals.

Foxes are endlessly fascinating to spend time with. Nick and Todd are still young enough to be full of energy and curiosity – but they’re now pretty much full size, and that combination of familiar wild animal and close-up encounter is what makes this experience so different.

Booking Information
Our Fox Experience runs at midday on every day the farm is open – Wednesday to Sunday during term time, and daily throughout the school holidays. Each session lasts 20 minutes and is suitable for guests aged 6 and over, while anyone under 16 must be accompanied by a participating adult.
Please note that farm admission must be added separately to your experience booking, so you’ll be able to enjoy everything else Hogshaw Farm & Wildlife Park has to offer before or after your encounter.
