Our 1st visit, it was tipping down with rain but we loved it! Great place to take kids of all ages. Very well equipped, lots to do & see. Loved the indoor play area (obviously) Both cafes were serving a great selection of food & drinks. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Definitely going again 😀
Have been many times for parties and take the family, always have fun and see something new every time we go, The staff are really knowledgeable and helpful, another gem on our doorstep,
Had an amazing day, the animal keepers were so kind and patient with our children. The farm is in great condition and animals are all well looked after. So much to do, we will be back!
We are annual pass holders for the first time and went along to one of the Halloween dates. My little one had the best time. We fed the animals including deer, played in the soft play, sand pit and bouncy pillow, we had lunch which was nice also. We did the Halloween activities of decorating and pumpkin and making potion. The set up for potion making was fabulous, my little one thoroughly enjoyed it. The staff were excellent and played the role so well.
We had such a brilliant time at Hogshaw Farm’s Halloween event this year! The whole place was bursting with autumn colour and Halloween spirit. The kids loved every minute — from pumpkin picking in the patch to making magical potions in the witch’s hut. One of the highlights was the owl display — it was amazing getting up close to such beautiful birds. We also enjoyed feeding the animals around the farm, and my child even got to hold a hissing cockroach! Everything was really well organised, the staff were lovely, and there was so much to see and do.
Hidden Gem - you can tell the animals are very well looked after with lots of grass and space for them to freely roam. It is very clean compared to other farms I have previously visited. The goat and chicken walk throughs allows you to get up close with the animals which is brilliant. The park is good for children to go off and play without the worry that it is too high or they could fall off as it is all enclosed unlike other play areas at other farms or parks etc. Soft play indoors allows children to go off and burn energy whilst adults can sit and have some chill time. There was lots of tables free in order to sit down here for a hot drink. The place was clean throughout. We went during the Halloween break so did the pumpkin workshop and potion workshop both were enjoyable and worth the extra payment. Only downfall hence being 4 stars and not 5 is that we found some activities not clearly advertised for example we couldn’t find the potion workshop and walked everywhere to discover it was right at the start. Same for the pumpkin workshop we only saw that as it was next to the buggy car rides. We attended the 11am bird show which stated it was in a specific area. Ourselves alongside 3 other families sat on the benches outside in the arena part near the eagle and foxes. It got to 11:05 where we realised we clearly weren’t in the right place and found that the show was actually further down in a big cage with chairs. It would be beneficial for this to be more clearly displayed where the shows actually is. I believe a printed map for guests would be beneficial alongside a printed timetable of what is on during the day to make it clear for families to be able to plan activities accordingly. I know there are ‘what’s on’ signs around the farm but these should be printed for guests. Also the toilets outside the soft play area were too small especially if you have a young child with you who needs the toilet and needs help with this (although I am aware there were signs stating that this is temporary) hopefully once properly sorted the toilets will be more easily accessible. Overall would return as it is a very good place to go for families.
Friendly welcome in delightful rural location. Food varied from full English breakfast (vegetarian option available) pancakes plus a wonderful selection of home made cakes. It's a little out of the way but we'll worth visiting.
Lovely farm, so clean and well looked after (animals included!) The bird show was great and all the play areas are fab. Little one got to feed some chickens as well as the animals you buy feed for. Will definitely be back!
So touched that Hogshaw farm have given us a voucher for our Christmas raffle. Not only will it be valuable Fundraiser but one of the families from the centre would appreciate it so much. I have visited the farm on many occasions and always found it to be a wonderful day out with my two girls.
